Bearys Green Run-2025

Over 1,000 participants joined the 3rd Bearys Green Run 2025 in Shivamogga, promoting environmental awareness and honouring Saalumarada Thimmakka.

Shivamogga: Amid the cool morning breeze, the third edition of the Bearys Green Run 2025, organized by Bearys City Centre in memory of Saalumarada Thimmakka, was held on Sunday, with more than 1,000 children, adults, senior citizens, and specially abled participants coming together to showcase their love for nature.

Bearys City Centre has been organizing the Green Run every year, and this year too, a 5 km marathon was conducted in remembrance of Saalumarada Thimmakka. The run began in front of Bearys City Centre on B.H. Road, passed through Karnataka Sangha, DVS Circle, Usha Nursing Home, Lakshmi Talkies, Durgigudi, and Nehru Road, and concluded at the Bearys City Centre premises.

All participants received complimentary T-shirts. Cash prizes of ₹5,000, ₹3,000, and ₹2,000 were awarded to the first, second, and third-place winners, respectively. Participation certificates and medals were presented to all runners.

Flagging off the Green Run, Mr. K. Nand Kumar, Retail Head of Bearys City Centre, said that greenery is our lifeline and must be preserved for future generations. He added that the Green Run was organized to create awareness about environmental conservation.

Mrs. Ayesha Anjum, another key member of Bearys, said that Saalumarada Thimmakka was a true environmentalist and announced that, in her memory, Bearys City Centre would distribute 1,000 saplings free of cost to the public.

The event was attended by Mohiddin, City Centre Manager, along with prominent personalities including Ismail Kutty, Mohammed Mujir, and Shashikumar Srinivasa Murthy.
